“To breathe freely is to live freely” Dr Robert Fulford DO
Manual therapy can help by effecting the best possible functional biomechanics of the breath and by learning just a few simple tools we can bring awareness to our bodies and help address some of the health issues that many of us suffer from.
BREATHING EXERCISES
Lawrence teaches breathing exercises to help manage a myriad of complex systems as the breath is an incredible process, supplying every cell in the body with oxygen for respiration and giving us all the conditions for life and health.
The breath can be controlled consciously and sub-consciously via the nervous system. This means it can be driven by our state AND we can use it to influence our own state of being.
Some of the potential impacts of good functional breathing include:
Induce the relaxation response and decrease stress response
Aid the proper function of the digestive system
Help to regulate blood pressure
The ability to bring awareness to state and gives the tools to change it
Help improve posture
Decrease the effects of asthma & Chronic Obstructive Coronary Disease (COPD)
